Following the announcement of Rev. Dr. Se Hee Han to take a new appointment this coming July, I want to thank her for such dedicated and committed service as the Hawaii District Superintendent and a long and distinguished career as a local church pastor. She has served our California-Pacific Annual Conference her entire career and we are grateful for her ministry.
I am also pleased to announce our next Hawaii District Superintendent: Rev. Moonyoung Lee who is currently serving as the Pastor of Wilshire United Methodist Church’s English Ministry.
Moonyoung brings a wealth of gifts and grace to the District Superintendency. After earning a Bachelor’s degree from University of California, Irvine (Irvine, CA), Moonyoung earned a Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology (Claremont, CA). Prior to her current appointment at Wilshire UMC, she has also served as Pastor of St. Paul’s UMC (Torrance, CA) and Wayside UMC (Carson, CA). Currently, she serves on the West District Committee on Ordained Ministry and the Cal-Pac Orders Executive Team of the Board of Ordained Ministry.
Connectionally, Moonyoung has served as Secretary of the National Federation of Asian American United Methodists (NAFAUM) as well as Secretary of the National Association of Korean American United Methodist Pastors Serving Cross-Racial & Cross-Cultural Appointments (NAKAUMPSCRA). And, currently, she serves as a member of the General Commission on Religion and Race’s Cross-Racial, Cross-Cultural Strategy Team (CST) as well as Vice President of the National Association of Korean American United Methodist Clergywomen (NAKAUMC).
Rev.
Lee possesses a deep and committed faith in Jesus Christ, a dedication
to the vitality of the local church, brilliant communication skills, and
strong administration abilities.
Please join me in thanking Rev. Dr. Se Hee Han on her leadership of the
Hawaii District, and in welcoming Rev. Moonyoung Lee as our next Hawaii
District Superintendent!
Be the Hope,
