We are saddened to learn of Rev. Dr. John McFarland pleading guilty to criminal offenses that involve children.

We reiterate our unequivocal opposition to abuse or misconduct of any kind, especially against children.

As clergy, we need to remember our sacred vows of “doing no harm,” and uphold our highest moral values in our personal and professional conduct.

In this difficult time, let us be in prayer for the victims, their families, and all who are affected.
