The Justice and Compassion Essential Ministry Team (JCEMT) is currently accepting applications for our annual grants. We are offering three types of grants to support initiatives across the conference connection that aim to end spiritual and physical hunger. You may apply for one of the three grants.

Whether you are involved in food distribution programs, community outreach projects, or other forms of service related to justice, compassion, hunger, and peace, we encourage you to apply. We believe in the power of collective action, so applications from collaborative efforts involving multiple United Methodist churches, religious organizations, or external agencies are especially welcome.
Our goal is to support a wide range of ministries across our conference, recognizing the diverse ways in which justice and compassion manifest in our communities.

AVAILABLE GRANTS:
JCEMT GRANT
The Justice and Compassion Grant is awarded to laity, clergy, congregations, and communities who are meaningfully engaged in ministries of justice and compassion locally and globally. Grants will be up to $5,000.00. The JCEMT supports a wide variety of new and ongoing programs which are connected to the people of the United Methodist Church (UMC).
HUNGER GRANT
The Hunger grants are awarded to those ministries who are providing feeding programs for unhoused or families living in poverty. The maximum grant for 2024 is $500. We support a wide variety of different ministries from food banks to providing lunches to go.
PEACE WITH JUSTICE GRANT
The principal emphasis of the Peace with Justice Committee is to work collaboratively with congregations and ministries for advocacy and action on peace with justice related issues.
Grants are made possible by the annual Peace with Justice Offering. 50% is retained for local ministry and the rest for denomination-wide work. Grants of up to $2,000 are awarded annually. Peace with Justice witnesses to God’s demand for a faithful, just, disarmed, and secure world.
