The 2024 summer camp season has officially begun, starting this week with the junior and senior high camp at beautiful Cedar Glen! We are thrilled to welcome campers from all over, whether they are part of local churches or the broader community. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, learning, and spiritual growth.

Inspiring Chapel Services
Each camp has dedicated camp pastors from the local area. This week at Cedar Glen, Rev. Darin Arntson from St. Marks UMC of San Diego and Rev. Brian Parcel from First UMC of Chula Vista as our camp pastors. During Monday’s chapel, Rev. Darin shared about how well Jesus knows us and loves us. Each camp pastor guides campers through this year’s camp thoughtfully designed curriculum that enhances camper’s spiritual journey and strengthens their faith.

A Day in the Life at Camp
Every day at camp is packed with exciting activities and opportunities for growth. Here’s a sneak peek at what a typical day looks like:

• Worship and Bible Study: Campers start their day with uplifting worship and engaging Bible study sessions, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
• Small Group Gatherings: These intimate groups foster deep connections and meaningful discussions, allowing campers to share and learn from each other.
• Creative Crafts: From making friendship bracelets to working with clay, campers can unleash their creativity and take home beautiful handmade keepsakes.
• Games and Activities: There’s never a dull moment with activities like ping pong, pool, swimming, climbing towers, archery, and even baking!
• Team Activities and Friendship: Campers can participate in team-building activities like scavenger hunts and enjoy some free time making new friends and catching up with old ones.
• Evening Fun: Each evening, the fun continues with activities like roasting s’mores by the campfire and showcasing talents in our end-of-camp talent show.

Join the Student Worship Band
One of the highlights of our camp is the worship band, led by a dedicated staff member and rounded out by students. This is a fantastic opportunity for musically inclined campers to volunteer and share their talents, leading their peers in worship and praise.
