Laity Council

The Laity Council of the California-Pacific Conference is dedicated to supporting our local diverse churches through identifying, training, equipping, and transforming Christian disciples and lay leaders into fruitful, spirit-led leaders.

Responsibilities:

• fosters awareness of the role of laity in achieving the mission of the United Methodist Church
• develops and promotes programs to cultivate an adequate understanding of the theological and biblical basis for lay life and work among the members of the churches of the annual conference.
• develops and promotes stewardship of time, talent, and possessions within the annual conference
• provides for the training of lay members of annual conference
• provides support and direction for the ministry of the laity on the local, district, and annual conference levels
• provides organization, direction, and support for the development of local church leaders.
