Hours: 5-10 hours/week
Pay range: $24-$28
Reports to: Senior Pastor

General Description
The AV Director provides leadership and oversight for all technical production elements of the church’s worship services and events, including audio, lighting, video, and livestreaming. This role ensures that all environments are well-supported, distraction-free, and aligned with the church’s mission of meaningful, engaging worship.
The AV Director is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audiovisual systems for worship services and scheduled events, as well as equipping and leading volunteers who serve in these areas. This individual models a strong Christian commitment and upholds a standard of excellence, integrity, and teamwork, recognizing the importance of their role in supporting worship and ministry.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all production elements for Sunday worship services, including sound, lighting, video, and livestreaming.
  • Provide technical support for additional services and events, such as memorial services, funerals, weddings, and special gatherings.
  • Coordinate with church staff and ministry leaders to plan and execute audiovisual needs for services, classes, and events.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteer teams serving in audio, lighting, video, and livestream roles.
  • Ensure all production systems are properly set up, operated, and reset for services and events.
  • Oversee the operation and quality of livestream broadcasts, ensuring a consistent and engaging online worship experience.
  • Develop and maintain systems, documentation, and training resources to support ongoing volunteer excellence.
  • Ensure coverage for all services and events by coordinating trained volunteers or substitutes when unavailable.

 

Critical Skills & Competencies
• Strong working knowledge of audio systems, lighting design and control, video production, and livestreaming platforms
• Ability to lead, train, and develop volunteer teams with varying levels of experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and servant-hearted approach
• Problem-solving ability, especially in live production environments
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence in worship environments

Education & Experience Requirements
• Demonstrated experience in live audio, lighting, video production, and/or livestreaming
• Experience with digital audio consoles, presentation software, video switching systems, and streaming platforms
• Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteers preferred
• Background in church production or live event production strongly preferred
