2026 Vietnamese National Caucus Convocation Report

The Vietnamese National Caucus gathered in Westminster, California, at Good Shepherd UMC on July 24-26, 2026. Below is a reflection on the gathering from Rev. Khuong Chau of Good Shepherd UMC:

The 2026 Vietnamese National Caucus Convocation was a joyful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the strength of our connection in Christ. Throughout the weekend, we were blessed by powerful and inspiring sermons that encouraged us to deepen our faith and renew our commitment to God’s mission. The closing message from Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank was especially meaningful, speaking directly to the hearts of the Vietnamese clergy and challenging us to go forward bearing fruit for God’s kingdom.

Beyond the worship services, the convocation provided meaningful opportunities to reconnect, encourage one another, and strengthen the bonds among our churches across the Vietnam Caucus. It was also a great blessing to see so many young people step forward to serve with joy and dedication. Their willingness to lead, volunteer, and worship alongside us gives hope for the future of the Vietnamese United Methodist Church. We give thanks to God for this unforgettable gathering and pray that the seeds planted during these days will continue to bear fruit in every congregation.
