Know Your Rights Training November 2

November 2, 1-3 pm PST (11-1 HST, 12-2 ASKT, 2-4 MST) Join the Western Jurisdiction on November 2 for a Know Your Rights training with the Immigration Law & Justice Network.

Our immigrant communities continue to face uncertainty and quickly shifting policies, and our churches are called to respond with compassion and tangible support. This Know Your Rights training will offer practical immigration information and resources for clergy and lay leaders across the Western Jurisdiction. Confirmed presenters Alba Jaramillo and Melissa Bo of the Immigration Law & Justice Network will share best practices for churches accompanying immigrant communities.

The session will explore the church as sanctuary and safe spaces, including rights related to church property and connecting with partner organizations to increase the reach of our response. Participants will learn how to develop congregational protocols and react in the case of ICE activity. Presenters will also address Temporary Protected Status concerns, including issues affecting Haitian communities, and time will be set aside for Q&A.

We are committed to making this training accessible to all. Translation will be available in Spanish, Korean, Tongan, Haitian Creole, and American Sign Language. Whether your congregation is just beginning this conversation or looking to strengthen existing efforts, this training will help you walk alongside your neighbors with confidence.
