In a letter to Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño, Associate Vice-Chancellor for Institutional Advancement James H. Salley thanked The California-Pacific Annual Conference for a generous donation in the amount of $3,753.93 for the Africa University Direct Scholarship Fund.

“Thanks to donors like you, Patience Awadhi was among the 450 new graduates to whom Africa University awarded degree certificates this year.  Women accounted for 58 percent of the 2013 graduating class – a noable accomplishment given the challenges that women face in accessing higher education in sub-Saharan Africa – and the university now has close to 5,000 alumni,” said Halley.

The donation is the result of the offering collected at the Opening Worship of the 2013 Annual Conference, on June 13th 2013.
