We are pleased to announce that the Rev. Monalisa R. Siofele-Lolohea will be our new Young People’s Council Coordinator of the California-Pacific Conference of The United Methodist Church.
In this capacity, Rev. Siofele-Lolohea will serve as advisor to the Conference Council on Young People’s Ministry and oversee young people’s funding as well as annual, jurisdictional, and general conference activities. She will serve in this capacity on a quarter-time basis while also serving as quarter-time pastor at Trinity UMC in Pomona, CA.
Rev. Siofele-Lolohea’s extensive leadership with young people encompasses the church, as a leader in past local church, district, conference, and general church programs, as well as outside of the church, including as a teacher/member of the Freedom Writer Teacher’s Program.
A native of Hawaii, Rev. Siofele-Lolohea holds an M.A. in Education from the University of Phoenix in Honolulu and an M.Div. from Claremont School of Theology. She is currently pursuing a D.Min., also from Clarement School of Theology, and has previously led Hawaii District and California-Pacific Conference youth and young adult activities as a volunteer.
“The Cal-Pac Council on Young People’s Ministries will be greatly blessed by Monalisa’s guidance,” said Rev. David Berkey, Director of Camp, Retreat and Discipleship Ministries. “She is very relational, well-organized, and will provide the mentoring leadership from which the CCYM officers and members can benefit and flourish.”
Let us welcome our sister Monalisa in this capacity now with open arms!
