Remembering Joyce Zirkle

“Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23
It is with deep sadness and Christian hope that we announce the passing of Joyce Zirkle, who entered eternal life on Good Friday. Joyce worked in the Conference Treasurer’s office for 24 years and received the Bishop’s Award in 2019, a moment that she recently shared was the highlight of her life.
Bishop Swenson shares, “She was the heart of the San Fernando United Methodist Church congregation, and I was there with her on many occasions. Joyce was the spirit of the beloved community. Now she is absent from the body but present with the Lord.”
Dan Gara, the Conference Treasurer for most of Joyce’s career shares, “Joyce was my partner in ministry at which she excelled for our 17 years working together. She also was a dear friend we considered part of the Gara family. We thank God for the blessing of Joyce.”
Joyce lived a life full of faith, kindness, and love, touching the lives of all who knew her. We celebrate her life and the promise of the resurrection, giving thanks for the many ways Joyce reflected God’s love in our world.
Arrangements will be shared once they are finalized.
