Bishop Grant Hagiya intends to appoint the following pastors as of July 1, 2021:

Rev. John Farley from South District Superintendent to Assistant to the Bishop for Leadership.

Rev. Melissa R. MacKinnon from East District Superintendent to North District Superintendent.

Rev. Cavalain Hawkins from Hollypark UMC and Rev. Alma Johnson-Hawkins, a shared pastorate, to Scott UMC of Pasadena. Pastor Cavalain and Pastor Alma will succeed Rev. James Stevenson Sr. who will enter the retired relationship with the California-Pacific Conference on June 30, 2021.

Rev. Matthew Hambrick, Lead Pastor of Trinity UMC of San Diego, to Lead Pastor of the Costa Mesa First United Methodist Church. Pastor Matt will succeed Rev. Sarah Heath who will enter a time of Personal Leave relationship with the California-Pacific Conference as of June 30, 2021.

As “The Call Continues” to move forward in ministry, each week pastors who are confirmed to new appointments will be announced to the Conference as a whole. Let us hold every congregation in prayer as the body of Christ rises again!
