Dear Siblings in Christ,
“Light in the Darkness” is Bishop Grant J. Hagiya’s Holiday year-end message of hope to all clergy and all congregations of the California-Pacific Annual Conference.
It is the Bishop’s hope that pastors and congregations will recognize the unique load pastors are carrying this Advent and Christmas season. With services online and in person and Christmas and New Years falling on the weekend this year, the Bishop invites you to give the gift of time to pastors and worship leaders and use this service as a special year end sharing.
The conference-sponsored online virtual worship service will be available December 20th and remain live into the first two Sundays of the new year. The service will be emailed to you and posted on the conference website. Musicians and liturgists from around the Conference will share in the message of the season. Transcripts of the Bishop’s message will be available in multiple languages.
You are all encouraged to plan now for which Sunday you will hold for this special virtual message from the Bishop and to take some well deserved Sabbath time!
May the gift of hope born in the Christ child bring you joy and peace in this blessed season!
Rev. John Farley
Assistant to the Bishop for Leadership
