Conference Children Raise Over $400 for World Central Kitchen

At this year’s Annual Conference, the spirit of generosity and community started small as the children in our childcare program came together to make a meaningful impact on the world. Through their combined efforts and enthusiasm, they successfully raised $411.12 for World Central Kitchen, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.

World Central Kitchen, founded in 2010 by renowned chef José Andrés, has a simple yet powerful mission: to use the power of food to heal communities and strengthen economies in times of crisis and beyond. The organization is often “first to the frontlines,” offering nourishment and hope to communities facing emergencies, according to their website.

The children, along with Annual Conference Childcare Leader Risa Vargas and Co-Leader Selena Andrews, walked around the conference center during breaks collecting donations, singing “We’re raising money for World Central Kitchen!”

The money raised will go directly to World Central Kitchen, supporting their ongoing operations and ensuring that they can continue to respond swiftly and effectively wherever there is a need. Each dollar contributes to providing meals, supporting local communities, and delivering hope to those facing the aftermath of crises.

This year’s fundraising success is a testament to the power of community and the extraordinary potential of our younger generation to contribute positively to the world. Their compassion reminds us that even small acts of kindness can make a significant impact.

Thank you to everyone who supported the children’s initiative. Together, we have not only raised funds but also nurtured a spirit of empathy and action in communities in need.
