I am pleased to announce that today Ms. Lori Meaders began her work as the Chancellor of the California-Pacific Conference of The United Methodist Church.  She follows Mr. Steve Harbison who faithfully served as our conference chancellor for 29 years.

Meaders is a Senior Attorney with Southern California Edison Company where she is responsible for employee benefits matters for SCE, its parent company Edison International and the Edison subsidiaries.  She has practiced in the employee benefits field for nearly 35 years.  Prior to Edison, she was senior counsel at The Walt Disney Company, and previously practiced benefits law at major California law firms and was a consultant at international consulting firms.  She has the distinction of having served as the President of the Los Angeles chapters of the Western Pension & Benefits Conference and the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists.

Ms. Meaders is a member of First United Methodist Church of Pasadena where she serves as a member of the Board of Trustees.  In addition, over the last 10 years she has served on our conference Board of Pensions and Health Benefits, most recently as the Board’s Vice-Chair.

We are grateful for the long service of Steve Harbison and now give God thanks for Lori Meaders’ willingness to serve among us in this important way.
