Bishop Minerva Carcaño of the United Methodist Church argues that neither the Republicans or Democrats have taken a “clear, bold leadership role” on the issue of immigration reform. Carcaño sat on a panel discussion on faith and immigration, and was joined by Bishop Julian Gordy of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Bishop Anthony Taylor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Little Rock. The discussion, sponsored by the Baptist Center for Ethics and held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, was one of several held by faith communities in Charlotte, N.C. in and around the Democratic National Convention.
