It is with joy that I announce the appointment of Reverend Paige Eaves as Assistant to the Bishop, effective October 1, 2024. Reverend Eaves comes to this role with a pastoral life committed to deep care and service across our conference.
Rev. Eaves has served in The California-Pacific Conference for more than 2 decades. Most recently, she served in a split appointment as Pastor of La Mirada UMC and as the Assistant District Director in the South District. Her responsibilities have focused on strategic planning and the transformation of underutilized land into affordable housing, ADUs, and community centers. She has previously served as Associate Pastor at First UMC of Pasadena, as Pastor at Crescenta Valley UMC, and later at University UMC of Irvine.
Rev. Eaves serves on the board of Progressive Christians Uniting, which focuses on the growth and vitality of progressive campus ministries.
Rev. Eaves received her MDiv from the Candler School of Theology at Emory. Prior to this, she received a Masters of Public Policy at UC Berkeley, and an undergraduate degree from Furman University in Greenville, SC. She is married to professional drummer Forrest Robinson.
Please help us welcome and surround Reverend Eaves with prayer and encouragement as she says goodbye to her beloved La Mirada UMC, as well as her work in the South District, and prepares for transition to a new role among us. And please lift up La Mirada UMC and the South District in prayer as they go through the transition of change. I am confident Rev. Eaves will be an invaluable member of the California-Pacific Conference, and look forward to working with her as we live into our vision of Ending Spiritual and Physical Hunger.
Grace y paz,
Bishop Dottie Escobedo-Frank
