Greetings,
I have to share with you news today that James Kang, our Director of Communications and Innovation, is stepping down from his role, effective April 1, 2021.
James shared with me some time ago about his desire to start something new outside of the Conference. At the time, we agreed that he would be able to leave not too long afterwards. But, as the pandemic hit, his dreams were placed on hold as he stayed to lead our communications efforts through difficult times. He believes that now is the right time to move ahead.
“I will forever be grateful to have been afforded this privilege of a lifetime to serve in this role and I am especially grateful for the support and guidance of Bishop Hagiya. I ask for your support now as I soon launch my next project,” he says.
James has worked tirelessly for our annual conference, providing great communication services and wise counsel in all of our outreach and information management. He also has brought a spirit of innovation and change that has affected our annual conference ministry. We have all come to appreciate his humor and wit, and will miss all that he brings to our annual conference events and programs.
Anyone who knows him can see that this is a very James thing to do. I look forward to hearing good news about what he is about to launch. Let us keep him and his family in prayer during this important time.
Be the Hope,
Bishop Grant J. Hagiya
Los Angeles Area Resident Bishop
