Call for Responders in North and West District – Woolsey Fire 2020 (Disaster Response)

GIVE

Give now to the Disaster Response Fund (#3 on the list) to assist these efforts to aid wildfire survivors.

The California-Pacific Conference Disaster Response Task Force is calling for volunteers to respond to the Woolsey Fire in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, which ignited on November 8, 2018 and burned 96,949 acres of land, destroying 1,634 structures and causing three deaths.

At this time, we are only inviting participants from the North and West Districts to be trained as volunteers for the Woolsey Fire recovery project, as there will be no overnight stays or communal meals. (Our first work day will be December 5, 2020.)

Requirements:

  • At least 16 years old
  • Completing this form
  • Completing the “Done In A Day” training class online prior to volunteer service (The next class is November 28, 2020)
    • Technical requirements: To participate in Zoom meetings, participants must have a reliable Internet connection, and a laptop, tablet, or smartphone device that can download and install the Zoom app. A web or phone camera and a microphone are highly recommended, although some users may call in via phone if a mic is not available.

All participants must take the online Cal-Pac training class “Done In A Day” before volunteering, as taught by a certified trainer. The class will be scheduled when there are enough participants registered.

If you want to schedule a class for a team to take it all at one time, please contact Judy Lewis at 909.731.8248 or DFJKLewis@aol.com to make your request.
