About the Class:

• About the Course:  Early Response Teams (ERT) support conference preparedness, response efforts, and recovery work in the aftermath of a disaster. Key activities for conference ERT and other response teams include working with survivors as they navigate aid programs, supplying survivors with food, water, shelter and help with mucking out and cleaning up.
• About ERT Certification and disaster relief Early Response Teams: Most Early Response Team members in the United States are required to be certified or to be supervised 1:1 by a certified team member. The Disaster Response Task Force highly recommends that all persons planning to work on an Early Response Team be certified prior to participation. Certification requires participation in an 8-hour class, a background check, and passing a written evaluation.
• The instructors are Ken Ellis and Rev Paula Fletcher
• You will be finished by 5:00 PM if your background check is completed, your contact information has been verified, and you have successfully completed the certification test. Breaks and nourishment provided.
• The class is open to participants from all districts, but this one will be held in the South District. Attendance is required for the entire length of the class.
