About the Event:

• Purpose: This event will inform, equip, and inspire lay persons in the South District to explore and engage in Lay Servant Ministries (LSM) and Certified Lay Ministry (CLM) as pathways to leadership, spiritual growth, and meaningful service in their local churches and communities.
• Invitation: Join us for an engaging and informative in-person Lunch & Learn, hosted by the South District. Whether you’re a current Lay Servant, Certified Lay Minister, or simply interested in learning more, this gathering is designed to deepen your understanding of lay leadership opportunities within the United Methodist Church. Through presentations from key leaders, practical insights, and open conversation, you’ll gain clarity about the roles, training paths, and spiritual impact of both LSM and CLM. Enjoy a complimentary lunch, connect with others in ministry, and discover how God may be calling you to serve in new and meaningful ways.
• Speakers include Rev. Luis Garcia (South District Superintendent), Michael Mitchell (South District Lay Leader), Viliami “Will” Tupou (South District Associate Lay Leader), Cathy Wilson (Conference Associate Director of Lay & Clergy Credentialing and Development), and Melissa Basch (Conference Director of Lay Servant Ministries).
