AVAILABLE GRANTS:

JCEMT GRANT

Purpose & Priorities for Funding
The Justice and Compassion Grant is awarded to laity, clergy, congregations, and communities who are meaningfully engaged in ministries of justice and compassion locally and globally. The Justice and Compassion Essential Ministries Team (JCEMT) supports a wide variety of new and ongoing programs which are connected to the people of the United Methodist Church (UMC). Please be aware that we are focusing on engaging ministries which are working at Ending Spiritual and Physical Hunger. We know that this covers many different areas of ministry and we are open to applications from across our entire conference. We particularly encourage applications from cooperative ministries (those involving several UM churches, religious organizations, and outside agencies).

Grant Amounts
Grants will be up to $5,000.00 depending on the number of applications.

PEACE WITH JUSTICE GRANT

The principal emphasis of the Peace with Justice Committee of the Cal-Pac Annual Conference is to work collaboratively with local United Methodist congregations and ministries for advocacy and action on peace with justice related issues. The Peace with Justice Grants are made possible by the annual Peace with Justice Offering. 50% of this offering is retained for local Peace with Justice ministries and the rest of it made available for denomination-wide work. Grants of up to $2,000 are awarded annually. Peace with Justice witnesses to God’s demand for a faithful, just, disarmed, and secure world.

Purpose and Priorities for Funding:
Financial grants are offered to local churches, agencies, and community organizations located within the boundaries of the California Pacific Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church that carry out the mission of the Conference Peace with Justice Committee. Preference for funding is given to requests from United Methodist affiliated organizations or ecumenical groups working with and through at least one United Methodist agency or organization. All applications must include an advocacy component in their proposed program or project.

HUNGER GRANT

The Hunger grants are awarded to those ministries within the California-Pacific Annual Conference who are providing feeding programs for unhoused or families living in poverty. The maximum grant for 2026 is $500. We support a wide variety of different ministries from food banks to providing lunches to go.
