The Laity Council invites you to participate in the 2025 Laity Sunday, scheduled for October 19, 2025. The theme is Together by Grace! Be Strong in the Spirit, inspired by Ephesians 3:16:

I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit.

Laity Sunday 2025 invites us to reflect on what it means to be lay witnesses, living into community and strength given to us through the Spirit. This year’s emphasis reminds us that discipleship is not an individual pursuit, but a shared life in Christ. To be lay disciples is to live life together. We invite congregations across the conference to celebrate Laity Sunday 2025 by lifting up the voices, gifts, and callings of lay people in worship and ministry.

Some ways to celebrate Laity Sunday include:

• Invite a lay person to speak during the service.
• Share about lay ministries at your church or in our conference, such as Lay Servant Ministries.
• Highlight lay leaders in your church.
• Encourage laity to be involved in church leadership.

Throughout the weeks leading up to Laity Sunday, we will provide videos, planning sessions, and downloadable resources to help you create your Laity Sunday celebration.
