Music Director for Santee United Methodist Church

As a reconciling congregation, we strive to celebrate the diversity of all of God’s children.

Position Summary:
Our expectation of work time is as follows: worship leadership on Sunday; Wednesday or Thursday practices for the choirs and praise team; weekly staff meeting and monthly worship planning meeting; and preparation time.
We expect the Music Director’s leadership during religious seasons for worship and special music offerings (Christmas, Lent, Easter, etc.)
The Music Director would direct the ault choir, children’s choir, praise team, and work collaboratively with the accompanist.
We want the Music Director to ensure that the music offered is varied and reflects the diversity of the Church, providing a combination of traditional hymns, contemporary worship songs, and other types of music that would lead all in worship.
The Music Director would work with and be supervised by the lead pastor.

Qualifications:

• A love of music and a commitment to using music to serve God.
• A degree or equivalent experience in the field.
• Proficient knowledge of diverse musical styles.
• An understanding of the difference between musical performance and worship.
• Effective interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Proven leader who is dependable and takes initiative.
• Ability to work with both children and adults.

Pay Range

$30-$32 per hour for 16-20 hours a week.
