Artesia-Cerritos United Methodist Church in Artesia is seeking a worship accompanist for Sunday morning worship.
The position is responsible for accompanying the Choir, soloists, and the congregation in worshiping God through music, under the direction of Choir Director. The Pianist should demonstrate strong Christian commitment, with an awareness of the importance of Christian example.
Position requires 2.5 hours (8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) on Sunday mornings (service time: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.) Choir rehearsal is on Sunday morning, beginning at 8:45 a.m. There are additional services during the Lenten season, Thanksgiving Wednesday and Christmas Eve.
Specific Responsibilities: Provides piano music for worship services – Prelude, Offertory, Postlude and accompanying two to three hymns. Rehearse the soloists as necessary.
Skills Required: knowledge of church music and repertoire helpful; play piano and sight-read music proficiently. Accompany choir/soloists in rehearsals and services, as necessary.
Paid auditions for position begin on September 13, 2026.
Salary or Pay Range
$150.00 per worship service
