Pre-Conference Briefing & Legislative Sections will be held June 8, 2026

All participants are invited to attend the Pre-Conference Briefing on Monday, June 8, 2026, starting at 7 pm PDT (4 pm HST). The Pre-Conference Briefing will include updates from our conference ministries and information related to Budget and Delegate Elections during our Annual Conference Session that starts on June 17.

The Pre-Conference Briefing will be followed by Legislative Sections (with voting) for Lay Members and Clergy Members who are able to vote on conference legislation. (See this Voting Rights chart for more information.)

Legislative sections are randomly selected smaller meetings of voting members who discuss and vote on recommendations, resolutions, and rules changes that have been submitted to the Annual Conference Session. Legislative items which are passed in legislative section with a high enough percentage vote are moved to a “consent calendar.” During the Annual Conference Session, members will have the opportunity to remove items from the Consent Calendar for individual consideration, and to vote for all the items remaining on the Consent Calendar at one time.

  • The Pre-Conference Briefing is scheduled at 7:00 PM PDT | 4:00 PM HST*.  It will be available afterward as a video for those who are unable to participate live.
  • For voting members, Legislative Sections will follow the Pre-Conference Briefings at approximately 8:00 PM PDT | 5:00 PM HST*, depending on the discussion period following the Pre-Conference briefing. We estimate the end time of each legislative section to be approximately 9:00 PM PDT | 6:00 PM HST*, but the legislative section may work up until its business is finished.
  • RSVP is required to attend the Legislative Section, so as to be consistent in size between each section and so as to maintain approximate clergy and lay member equality. Voters will be assigned to a Legislative Section randomly, per Conference Rules.
  • Legislative Section assignments will be included in the welcome letter & invoice after registering. A meeting link with personalized access code will be distributed prior to District Conferences on Friday, May 8, and a reminder sent prior to the Pre-Conference Briefing on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
  • Budget items and delegate elections are not considered or voted in legislative sections.

Legislation which receives “concurrence” in Legislative Sections will be moved to a Consent Calendar for voting during the Annual Conference Session.
