Jan Hanson Announces Retirement from Cal-Pac

This week, Jan Hanson, Director of Human Resources and Conference Benefits Officer for the California-Pacific Annual Conference, announced her retirement. She shared this message with the conference, “After the joy of an amazing 20+ years at Cal-Pac, I will be retiring effective April 1, 2025.  Please know how much you have blessed my life, and I return the blessings to all of you.”

Jan Hanson has served as Director of Human Resources and Conference Benefits Officer for the California-Pacific Annual Conference for more than 20 years. Along with the Human Resources staff, she is responsible for clergy and lay employee pension and health benefits, employment administration for Conference lay staff, and consultations with local church representatives on matters relating to employment of lay staff. She develops and conducts training for districts, local churches, and Conference staff on employment-related topics, benefits, and SPRC responsibilities. Before joining Cal-Pac, she worked as Human Resource Director on the property and regional level for major hotel companies. She has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University. A lifelong United Methodist, Jan has called Aldersgate UMC in Tustin home for over 40 years.

Bishop Escobedo-Frank shared, “It has been a delight to work with Jan. She has a wealth of knowledge, skill, and expertise. She brings joy to our conference, and she cares deeply about our clergy and churches. We will miss her and are thankful for her years of service.”

Cal-Pac is grateful to Jan for her direction during her tenure, and we look forward to working with her over the next several months until her retirement date of April 1, 2025.
