While a Presidential Executive Order has now been signed to keep a family together when they are detained at the border, The United Methodist Church has been active and responding to the systematic separation of immigrant families as well as migration in general.
The following are resources to learn and participate:
- Immigrant Family Separation – Why it is happening and what we can do (GBCS)
- Faith Leaders’ Statement on Family Separation (Council of Bishops)
- United Methodist Women Statement on Immigrant Parent-Child Separation (UMW)
- Interfaith Toolkit to End Family Separation, Stop Family Detention, and Keep Families Together (CWS)
More resources will be posted as it becomes available…
