KCET presents a new season of the Emmy® -winning historical documentary series Lost LA. Follow historian Nathan Masters as he goes on an adventure to discover the untold stories behind Southern California.  

Japanese Americans returning from World War II incarceration camps rebuilt their community in L.A.’s Crenshaw area. In the episode of Lost LA “From Little Tokyo to Crenshaw,” Nathan explores historical archives at the Japanese American National Museum, shares a meal at legendary Tak’s Cafe with artist-activist Nobuko Miyamoto, shoots hoops at Dorsey High and considers how the neighborhood’s diverse history intersects with community-building efforts today.
