The shelter at the Christ Ministry Center in San Diego is a temporary shelter for those seeking asylum in the United States. Many families with babies pass through the 3-bedroom house that serves as a shelter and there was a need for another baby crib.

Each year, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange hosts an annual Ecumenical Prayer Service for Christian Unity.  For 2014, the service will highlight the Roman Catholic and United Methodist communities of faith, with a special emphasis on the dignity of the human person and immigration.
