On March 26th 2024 we brought you a story on the devastating floods which hit San Deigo earlier this year. You can read the article here:

Karl Ports, chair of our Disaster Response team, along with members of that team and other partner agencies, has been heavily involved in the recovery work which is extensive and expected to take months of hard toil to complete.
A clean up day has now been scheduled to assist some of the victims of the flooding, which has hit the poorer and more marginalized members of the community in devastating ways.
On April 27th volunteers and agencies will be mucking out up to 30 homes. The call is to meet at 8am at Southcrest Recreation center, 4149 Newton Ave, San Diego, CA 92113. If you are able to assist in this vital work then please contact Karl Ports at kports95@gmail.com.
You can also sign up to volunteer via this link to help with food distribution and packaging.
Thank you for being willing to provide assistance, support, and above all hope to those who are suffering from this disaster.
